A POP-UP SALE!!!! Last Minute Shopping!

 

It's a pop-up in our neighborhood! This is what happens when two artists (Jack and Eddy) live next to each other and like to collaborate!  It's what happens when there is a pandemic, you have been making art but you can't be in show. 

We've invited two other friends: a silk artist (Diane Fredgant) who also has incredibly lovely and well made face masks using surgical-grade filters for sale, and a chef (Lani Raider) who will have beautifully prepared treats available for purchase as well as a menu of items that can be ordered for future consumption.

Virtual Shows are great, but often customers want to handle the merchandise or at least see it up close- personal!  WHAT KIND OF MERCHANDISE? I'm so glad you asked! Turned wood, fused glass, hand-painted silk, and chef prepared freshly smoked salmon (cryovac packaging) and an assortment of holiday treats.  I'll feature information about each artist on this site, beginning Tuesday evening.  Check this site on Sunday if it's raining. We plan to be open unless there is a deluge. This is Oregon after all....it does rain. We'll stay open during showers

So on Sunday December 20th we will set up some open air booths with heaters...and invite friends and neighbors to browse through our work. COVID SAFETY is our main concern!

LOCATION: The turn-around space between 02 SW Canby and 16 SW Canby,

•We will limit the number of guests entering at one time to members of a single pod or if alone, just one customer at a time. If you are a drive up guest, you may be asked to wait in your car for a few minutes...if customers are already in our booths.

•We're offering hot drinks and small nibbles that are individually wrapped

•We will accept  payment for art via cash, check, PayPal, or credit card

• Hand sanitizer will be available for your use.

Hiatus is Over!

It's been about 6 weeks since I began the glass door project. 
I needed to prep for Celebration of Art...a very wonderful show.
Jack and I had a wonderful time collaborating and we are excited to continue exploring the kinds of wood and glass that will share  conversations!

But now it is time to grab that pattern I posted back in September and start the process of cutting patterns and glass.
I am so excited to devote some real time and energy to this next project.

New Collaboration: Neighbor Artists!

It started with a 12" glass disc and a chunk of wood.

After some careful measurements, my neighbor Jack Liskear set to work on the wood, while I returned to my studio to work on the embellishments.

The most challenging part was cutting the tree.  The glass is a reptilian patterned iridized black glass that creates a cool effect when light hits it.

The leaves came next..... and when the wood and the glass met again....

SOLD!

This was the first platter sold....Oregon maple with a glass manufactured and made in Oregon! The black center has a dichroic pebble stream perfect for holding some brie or other cheese. This platter can also be mounted on the wall.

Jack Liskear is the wood turner.....it is so much fun to make these various bowls and platters with him. This is also turned from a block of local maple. I call my contribution "graffiti glass." 

All my glass comes from Bullseye Glass here in Portland. My studio is in my home in Southwest PDX.... Jack's studio is just across our turn-around behind his garage!

I am pleased to be part of this low key art show at Baerlic Brewery!

I have some new work in collaboration with my friend Jack Liskear He is a wood turner and I have been making some glass inserts. I'll also have some glass pendants, dishes, and slumped bottles. 

I know I will be there Friday afternoon and Saturday evening. 

Jewelry will be available for purchase from Esther Liberman and beautiful paintings by Emina Musanovic will also be there.

The art is affordable and beautiful.
